Terms & Conditions
1. The promoter is SPAR with its registered office at BWG Group incorporated in Ireland, Registered number: 20469. Registered Office: Greenhills Road, Walkinstown, Dublin 12.
2. An entrant must be over 18 years of age and reside in the Republic of Ireland on the date of entry in order to be eligible for this promotion. Entrants must provide proof of age and/or residence if requested. The determination of residence and qualification for entry to the promotion shall be at SPAR's sole discretion.
3. Employees or contractors of SPAR or its associated companies and agencies or companies otherwise connected to this promotion may not enter the promotion (this prohibition extends to immediate family members of any of the prohibited persons referred to above and to individuals who become prohibited persons during the course of the promotion).
4. No purchase of any product is necessary to enter the promotion. Enter free at http://spartan.spar.ie
5. Incomplete, illegible or late entries will not be accepted.
6. The opening date for entry is Monday 5th of March and the closing date for entry is Sunday 15th of April 2012.
7. No organised groups or representatives are permitted to enter this promotion. No syndicates or groups are permitted to enter this promotion. Multiple automatically generated entries will not be considered.
8. SPAR accepts no responsibility for entries not received. Entries will be moderated upon receipt and put forward for nomination as county representative.
9. Voting to select the top two people from each county (26 ROI counties) will run from Monday 16th April to Sunday 13th May 2012. At the end of this period the top two will be sent forward for independent judging by a SPAR fitness expert and nutritionist. The fitness expert will determine which candidate from each county is deemed most suitable to take part in the SPARTAN Challenge. If there is only one candidate from a particular county it will be at the discretion of the fitness expert & nutritionist if they are suitable to compete. If there is no candidate from a particular county that county will not be represented.
10. The top two candidates must be free to attend a screening day in Dublin on Saturday 26th May and present SPAR with a letter from your GP to confirm you are in a fit state to undertake an exercise programme of this nature. The chosen 26 SPARTANS will train to take part in the National Lottery Race Series & Dublin City Marathon in association with SPAR.
11. All chosen SPARTANs must commit to attend the following events in Dublin:

12. The King or Queen of SPARTANs will be the person viewed by the judges to have exhibited the most dedication to the programme.
13. There will be a total of 1 prize. The prize is a Luxury trip for two to the New York marathon as spectator. The prize also includes return flights to New York, accommodation, a champagne reception and dinner, €500 spending money and a €300 sports store voucher. SPAR reserves the right to alter, subtract from or add to this defined list at any time.
14. The prizes are not transferable or for sale or resale or redeemable for cash and can only be used by the winner. No cash alternative is available.
15. By accepting their prizes, the winners grant (and shall procure that their nominated guest grant) SPAR the right to use and publish their names and pictures in such media as SPAR may choose for advertising and/or promotional purposes. If requested by SPAR, prize-winners must agree to take part in any publicity regarding their prize.
16. No warranty or guarantee is given by SPAR in relation to the training programme or prizes. SPAR shall not be liable or responsible for any loss, liability, damage or injury suffered or sustained to person or property (including, but not limited to, consequential loss) by reason of any act or omission by SPAR or its servants or agents in connection with the supply of any goods or services by any person to the prize-winners and their nominated guests or by reason of an entrant or prize-winner otherwise participating in this promotion.
17. No responsibility will be accepted by SPAR for failed, partial or garbled computer transmissions, for any computer, telephone, cable, network, electronic or internet hardware or software malfunctions, failures, connections, availability, for the acts or omissions of any service provider, internet, accessibility or availability or for traffic congestion or unauthorised human act.
18. By entering this promotion each entrant confirms for good and equitable remuneration, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, that he or she hereby assigns to SPAR any and all copyright and other intellectual property rights that may arise to or vest in that entrant in relation to the material submitted by him or her as part of this promotion and hereby waives his or her moral rights in respect of same and permits SPAR to exploit these rights in all media now known or hereafter invented as SPAR sees fit.
19. Participating details and other information supplied by each entrant will not be used for any other purpose outside of the administration of this promotion without obtaining the permission of that entrant.
20. Entering the promotion shall be deemed to be a full and unconditional acceptance of the terms and conditions of this promotion. A failure to adhere to these terms and conditions shall result in disqualification from the promotion and, if necessary, forfeiture of a prize. SPAR reserves the right to suspend, cancel or withdraw this promotion, or amend the terms and conditions of this promotion, in whole or in part at any time.
